A boat trip around Favignana is a wonderful journey immersed in the intense colors of the fantastic Egadi Sea.
The trip departs around 10:45 AM, starting with a brief panoramic view of the port, passing near the Camparia and the Florio factory. Once leaving the port, the boat begins to skirt the island, heading towards the eastern side. Right under the seafront, you can see the marks left along the coast by the ancient tufa stone miners (a particular sandstone used in construction). The journey passes by Cala San Nicola and Scalo Cavallo, reaching the beautiful Cala Rossa, where the first stop is made to dive into the crystal-clear waters.
After the swim, the journey continues towards Cala Bue Marino, Punta Marsala, and Cala Azzurra, where the boat stops for a swim and an aperitif.
The journey continues south towards Lido Burrone and Cala Monaci. As the boat continues along the coastline, it reaches a narrow strip of land called Punta Lunga, which shelters a charming fishermen's village. The boat passes by the small harbor for some photos and then heads towards the western side. Here, the sandstone gives way to limestone rock, and the coastal landscape changes completely.
The boat reaches Cala Pirreca, located near two small islets, Previto and Galera. Another stop is made here, during which a buffet of typical local products will be offered. The journey then continues towards Cala Rotonda, where a stop is made for snorkeling. It is common to encounter large schools of fish (mainly gilt-head bream) that approach the boats, curious and searching for food.
The tour then continues, passing Punta Sottile, Punta Ferro, and reaching Cala Pozzo. The boat rounds Punta Faraglione, passes near the Lovers' Cave, and heads towards the port for the return, expected around 5:00 PM.
